Bath Fine Art Gallery specialising in the sale of Old Masters and British paintings. The gallery required a decorative scheme to showcase its collection of 15th 16th, 17th, and 18th Century art.
Strong and neutral colours were used to give emphasis to the gallery’s paintings and sculptures. Working with natural light, the upper gallery was painted in a darker colour than the lower gallery.
With the work on display taking priority over the decorative scheme, architectural details such as the ceiling rose were painted to match the ceiling, walls and architraves. This reduced their visual impact without losing any historical detail.
Areas: ground floor and lower ground floor galleries.
Services: painting & decorating.
